What We Believe
We believe that there is one Lord, one Faith and one Baptism (Ephesians 4:5)
There is only one God (Dueteronomy 6:4). He is the Creator of heaven and earth, and all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), in the Son (Jesus Christ), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling of the Spirit).
Dueteronomy 6:4 : Ephesians 4:4-6 : Colossians 2:9 : I Timothy 3:16
We believe the original doctrine that was delivered to the Apostles in the book of Acts.
One baptism refers to baptism by immersion in water, and the Holy Spirit baptism experienced by the first church in Acts, Chapter 2.
Water baptism is an essential part of New Testament salvation and not merely a symbolic ritual. It is part of entering into the kingdom of God, and therefore, it is not merely a part of local church membership.
John 3:5 : Galatians 3:27
Speaking in tongues means speaking miraculously in a language unknown to the speaker, as the Spirit gives the utterance.

Revival Center of Modesto, California, was birthed as a dream of Reverend Earl and Ethel Tool in 1933. They invested their inheritance in a piece of land on Tuolumne Boulevard to start a church in the city of Modesto (population in 1933: approximately 14,000).
In 1941, Reverend J.E. and Lillian Rhode moved to Modesto and he became pastor of the growing assembly. Upon Pastor Rhode’s sudden death in 1975, Reverend J.E. Dansby and his wife, Florene, assumed pastorate of Revival Center. After five years as pastor, failing health prevented him from maintaining a full-time pastoral duties. As a result, in 1980, he resigned as pastor of Revival Center.
Reverend Randy G. Keyes who was, at the time, an evangelist who had preached on several occasions in Modesto was overwhelmingly voted by the assembly as the new pastor of Revival Center.
With a growing congregation, the sanctuary at the Tuolumne Blvd. location was quickly becoming too small. So in 1979, the church purchased and renovated an old movie theatre in the heart of downtown Modesto at the corner of 7th and I Streets.
In 2002, Pastor Keyes transitioned to the office of Bishop of Revival Center and Reverend Todd and Kim Johnson assumed the role of Pastor. With the synergy and coupling of ministry passion, this transition has allowed Revival Center to experience even more explosive growth and success than it ever has before.
Today, Modesto boasts a population of nearly 190,000 people and, just as it did in 1993, Revival Center is still playing an important part in people’s lives. In addition to the "mother" church in Modesto, Revival Center also has 20 "daughter works" and 8 branch works located through the Central Valley and even extending into the Bay Area.
As an ever-growing body of believers, Revival Center is vibrant, impacting church that has touched thousands of lives, both locally and globally. With a passion to share of message of Jesus Christ and see His kingdom fulfilled, Revival Center pursues the mission of seeing lives transformed through a life-changing experience with Jesus Christ!
